Posting from my first-ever self-hosted instance, running the latest version of #littleFedi. Install is easy enough for someone, like me, with limited tech skills; and maintenance has thus far been a breeze. Would recommend to others doing the self-hosting thing 💯

I like and use that client on mastodon for some automated stuff.
I tried last week but didn't managed to toot login to my littlefedi.
the landing page for authorization for my instance give me 404 page not found
i'd like to massive add some of my following, since i can't import following or lists mastodon csv.

moved the #littlefedi test instance from aws / ec2 to oracle free tier ampere 1

Hello guys, thank you for this new lovely software.
Some basic observations on the web page for software distribution as it is now.
- latest should be renamed to latest.tar to be opened
- you should offer a tar.gz archive with config, docs, examples *also* for binaries, can you imagine download each file one by one ?
With first version, I ended up downloading both the source archive, to have the documentation properly organized, and the binary for my platform

This post came from a littlefedi test instance that
- it has a stable ip, but it does not have a fixed ip, if I reboot the server, it will change.
- it does not even have a paid/owned domain; I'm using one of the many free dynamic dns services (dyndns.org)
Other instances know me from the FQDN, not from the ip.
What happens if my ip change?
My ddclient will update the dns.
While the change propagates (5 to 10 minutes), the other instances will keep trying to contact the wrong ip and, even if the old ip suddenly got assigned to another advanced user, fail to deliver because of missing/mismatch keys.
No data leak.
It's like my server has an outage but, as we all experience, that never translates into a user-level remote outage, other servers will just queue the messages for the time it takes.
Remote users won't see any disturbance.
So in the end, it's just a matter of technical skill, a server could run on a raspberry pi at home landline, or even on a smartphone offline in the night, if only such a software server exist
Server should install in two clicks and the graphical interface should just ask "do you have a domain ? do you want me to register a free one ?"
just migrated the littlefedi server from an aws ec2 t3.micro (amd64) to a t4g.nano (arm64)
just copied everything and changed only the binary 👍

si possono indicare alcuni post, metti che ti venga un pippone particolarmente ispirato che non vuoi cancellare dopo qualche giorno, come blog.
Oltre a pubblicarli in timeline come gli altri, se li salva a parte su un sito blog like
